


Voted BBC Best Jazz Vocalist and Best Jazz Artist 2005. Liane Carroll has received universal acclaim for both her live performances and recent CD recordings – “Slow Down”, “Standard Issue” and “Billy No Mates”.
This year, she continues a busy touring schedule with her trio as well as performing solo at the piano at many of the UK’s more intimate settings. She has recently won ‘Best female jazz vocalist’ at the first Ronnie Scotts Jazz Awards, presented by Michael Parkinson. June 2007, saw her trio make a head-line appearance from the Jazz World Stage at Glastonbury Festival, which was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3's 'Jazz Line-up.'.
Regarded by many jazz aficionados as the UK's leading male jazz singer, and often likened to his hero Mark Murphy, Ian has released a string of well-received albums and was named Best Vocalist in the 2004 BBC Jazz Awards …and again in 2007!
Described by Time Out as “The best jazz vocalist we have”, 2007 has been one of Ian Shaw’s most successful years. At the 2006 BBC Jazz Awards (where Shaw was nominated Best Vocalist), Shaw was invited to sing with the legendary Quincy Jones. His recent Linn album, “Drawn To All Things, The Songs Of Joni Mitchell” has garnered worldwide praise and was the first successful solo artist tribute to this highly regarded songwriter.
