Tara is one of Swansea and South Wales’s leading and most passionate Personal Trainers. Her enthusiasm, dedication and infectious motivation is spreading not only in The Dragon Hotel Health Club but throughout Wales, the UK and internationally with individuals following her online tips and advice. Tara has also been a finalist in the Top Ten Exorex Personal Trainer of the Year 2011 and the Top six in the National Fitness Awards Personal Trainer Award 2012.
Alongside her day job, Tara visits local care homes helping elderly and mentally ill residents through enjoyable activities. She regularly writes articles for newspapers and magazines, has been the motivational force behind the local radio stations 6 week diet programme helping the recruits and presenters lose hundreds of pounds. The programme will enter its third series in the New Year; this has been in addition to encouraging hundreds of listeners across South Wales. Tara has also helped launch online lifestyle channels 24sports.tv and supermum.tv.
Tara launched her first book, called Tara’s ‘Healthy Handbook’ in February this year with copies being bought from all around the world. Tara has also been appointed as the Fitness Expert for Admiral. Tara helps to promote health and fitness to all employees across the Admiral and Confused.com sites in Swansea, Cardiff and Newport with regular updates on her intranet page.
I am mum to a teenage son, who is my inspiration to stay fit and healthy. I have always enjoyed going to the gym, but I was a believer the longer I stayed in the gym doing cardio the more I would benefit. I also believed that I could have a biscuit with my cup of tea “as I had earned it”. Needless to say I didn’t change body shape and stayed unhappy!!
Then I met two fantastic ladies in the fitness industry, one being Tara Hammet, who shed some much needed light on the best way to train and eat for optimal results. This inspired me to educate myself further to achieve the physique I wanted and to be healthy and happy. I completed Level 2 Gym instructor and then Level 3 Personal Trainer, and i have achieved level 1 Precision Nutrition . I am keen to research fitness, health and well being; we are constantly learning how food and fitness affects the human body.It isn’t all about physical appearance.
I love my position as Health Club Manager here at The Dragon Hotel and being able to pass on what I have learned to motivate, educate and help get others achieve the results they desire. I absolutely love pushing clients through our one to one sessions, motivating my ladies through our Aqua class on a Monday @2pm, and a Thursday evening @6.30, and also getting the most out of people with tough sessions in our Group Pt Hiit workouts.
Dean is a Health and Fitness enthusiast with over 8 years experience in the industry. Having worked at various Gyms and studios across Swansea he has gained much experience and knowledge working alongside some of Swansea’s top Personal Trainers. Always looking to expand his knowledge and experience within the industry, Dean is currently working towards advanced nutritional and exercise referral Qualifications.
Personal Training is not only his job but is also a hobby for Dean and you will often find him training himself or clients at the Dragon Health club. Dean’s specialist focus is on Weight loss ‘Helping people reach their fitness goals and achieve their ambitions gives me a great sense of achievement’.
Dean is also a keen rugby player having represented Wales at Age group rugby and having also played for the Ospreys U16, U18 and U20’s. Coaching aspiring rugby players is an ambition of Deans, putting into practice past experiences, he also offers sports specific goal setting and training advice.

Tom is a keen fitness enthusiast and always looks for new ways to train on his own fitness and nutrition and in order to help others reach and over exceed their goal. Tom enjoy’s taking part in all sports, has a black belt in karate a sport that he has participated in since the age of 7. This is how he learnt to improve his own training in order to reach his peak at international level where Tom represented Wales. This in turn inspired him to help others to improve their health and fitness.Tom also enjoy’s surfing when ever possible and is keen to try out new sports. Tom still attends various courses to gain as much knowledge in the field of health and fitness as possible.
