The tag line reads ‘The Best of The Best’ and staff and management at The Dragon Hotel are indeed delighted to be included within this elite group once again.
Recognising excellence in service, hospitality, quality and customer care, The Best Large Hotel Award is also recognition for promoting local distinctiveness and warm welcome.
“To have won The Best Large Hotel Award for the second time in a row is a real credit” says Tim Priestland, General Manager. “When your own industry recognises that you’re doing something right it really means a lot. Another great achievement is that The Dragon Brasserie was highly commended in the Best Meal Out – Taste of Swansea Bay Award. We’re very proud of the quality of food and service at The Dragon Brasserie but feel that it’s the best kept secret in the city!Considering the wealth of dining facilities in the area it’s fantastic to think that a hotel can compete.”
Indeed the best Meal Out Award was open to any Restaurant, Cafe/Tea Rooms, Bar or Hotel who provide excellent quality food, with an innovative menu using locally sourced seasonal produce, promoting local Welsh identity. Of course, excellent customer service and hospitality played their part in qualifying as well and the award was won by The Britannia Inn, Llanmadoc.
Other winners include the Pontardawe Festival for the Best Festival & Events category, the National Showcaves for Wales for Best Activity or Attraction Award and Go Ape for the Best Visitor Experience. The Outstanding Services to Tourism Award went to Leigh Davies and The Gower Heritage Centre Team.
To quote The Team at Tourism Swansea Bay: ‘Together we can show that Swansea Bay has the potential to become the best tourist destination in Wales’
