It was not only the Hotel’s exterior that looked good at The Dragon Hotel’s 50th Birthday party on Thursday 12th May as guests from across South Wales and beyond turned in dressed up to the nines for a great celebration.
The champagne was flowing; the canapés delicious and even The Swans upheld their end of the bargain by performing brilliantly against the odds at the City Ground. Staff member Kelly Ann Allen provided entertainment on the piano and close-up magician Phil Jay wowed guests as the official part of the evening shaped up in The Piano Bar & Restaurant.
With the fantastically decorated (by Housekeeping Manager Gwenno Priestland) 50th Birthday Cake for company, General Manager Tim Priestland welcomed Managing Director Daniel Stephenson to the stage. Quick to thank everyone for their support not only at the party but for the last 50 years, Daniel continues with thanking Swansea City Council for their support in the hotel’s recent facelift before introducing longest serving full time team member Barbara Brown to officially cut the cake.
Another recess to watch the second half of the thrilling play-off match followed before Mal Pope and The Jacks launched into their set in The Pembrey Suite enticing plenty of guests onto the dance floor to bop the night away. Resident DJ Steve wrapped up the lively evening although the champagne was still flowing at 4am!
Needless to say, there were plenty of bad heads the following morning…
